About the Virtual Gallery

Boasting the outstanding holdings of scholarly literature and a rich collection of documentary heritage, VU Library offers an open and inspiring environment for information gathering, studies, or cultural experiences. Alongside the traditional services, the Library holds exhibitions, organises various events, conferences, and meetings.

During these events, major cultural and scientific issues are discussed, creative works of various public figures and valuable documents that are kept at the Library are being presented to the public, and significant anniversaries and jubilees are being commemorated.

These impressive spaces are opened for events: VU Central Library, which welcomes its visitors in the 16th-century premises; the Scientific Communication and Information Centre (SCIC), which stands out with its modern environment; and other library departments such as reading rooms of faculties and centres in Vilnius and other cities (VU Kaunas Faculty and VU Šiauliai Academy Information Centre).

This constantly updated gallery contains photos allowing you to get acquainted not only with the events, projects, and initiatives that take place in the Library but also with the spectacular spaces that are being visited on the daily basis by both members of the university’s community and tourists from all over the world.
